The International North West 200

The North West 200's first organisers could not have imagined how the event would grow over the years. In 1964, the North West 200 event was handed over to the Coleraine & District Motor Club which continues to run the event today. In 2007, around two million people logged on from nearly every part of the world to watch what has become Ireland's largest sporting event and one of the world's fastest road races.

The Northern Ireland Milk Cup

The Northern Ireland Milk Cup was established in 1983 and quickly progressed to become one of the most prestigious youth football tournaments in Europe, if not the world. The competition is based at Coleraine, County Londonderry and several surrounding towns - Ballymoney, Limavady, Portstewart, Portrush, Castlerock, Ballymena and Broughshane.

The Oul Lammas Fair

One of Ireland's oldest traditional fairs held each year in Ballycastle at the end of August (last Monday & Tuesday).  An event not to be missed. Savour the atmosphere of the livestock sales and the many hundreds of stalls selling souvenirs and bric-a-brac of every description including the Oul Lammas Fair's traditional Dulse (a dried edible seaweed) and Yellowman (a confectionery).

Portrush Air Show

The event runs over two days, it's based in Portrush (or the air over Portrush), though there are viewing points back along the coast towards Porstewart and beyond.

The show attracts a large number of visitors over the 2 days. It starts and ends with the Red Arrows. One of the  attractions in 2009 was a brief visit by an Airbus A380.

A superb weekend event which is enjoyed by ages.

The Tullamore Dew Amateur Golf Tournament

Formerly known as The Black Bush, the competition takes place on four majestic golf courses on the glorious Causeway Coast in County Antrim Northern Ireland. The courses are Portstewart Golf Club, the Valley Golf Club at Portrush, Castlerock Golf Club, last but not least Ballycastle Golf Club.

County Antrim is a truly fantastic place for a golf holiday, the local people are the warmest and most friendly people you would wish to come across.

 North West Pipe Band Championships

Each August, the wonderful haunting sound of the bagpipes fills the air as the North West Pipe Band Contest gets under way. The two-day festival culminates in a massed band parade, with an atmosphere second to none.

This annual event is presented by the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association (Northern Ireland) in association with Coleraine Borough Council and Coleraine Borough Chamber of Commerce

Portrush Raft Race

The Raft Race traditionally signals the start of the summer season in Portrush and attracts people from all over Ireland (and from overseas) to come to Portrush with their homemade rafts.

The run up to the actual Raft Race involves an Air/Sea exercise with the two lifeboats and a Coastguard Helicopter. A Skydiving team helps to clear the beach for the start of the race and when the Big Army Field Gun on the North Pier is set off that's the signal for the Rafters to run with their rafts to the sea

 Portrush Fireworks Display

Fabulous entertainment for the entire family, live concert, children's entertainment and a huge fireworks display.

Full programme of events from Ramore Head, Portrush

Summer just would not be summer without fireworks and music in Portrush

This is a family event which is why the entertainment is orientated towards children. The atmosphere in the town is always superb on fireworks night
